At the very edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Bryson City offers easy access into the half million acre preserve, yet without the touristy trappings of the Gatlinburg - Pigeon Forge area on the Tennessee side of the Park.

Visitors love Bryson City's laid-back, small-town atmosphere, as well as the area's dining and shopping options. And for convenience, just about anything you want to see in the NC Smokies is just a short drive away.

The Great Outdoors-
The National Park is one reason to visit the Bryson City. We're known as the "Adventure Capitol of the Smokies" for good reason!

The Nantahala River is one of the nation's most popular rafting and kayaking venues. Paddler Magazine named Bryson City one of the "best paddling towns" in the US. And the book 101 Best Outdoor Towns named Bryson City the nation's third best whitewater paddling town. "If you can't find something exciting to do in Bryson City, you're not breathing," it says.

Fontana Lake offers a different kind boating adventure, with both lake kayaking and motor boating available. You can rent boats for fishing or pontoon boats for family outings.

With so many things to do in the Bryson City area, there's no way to do it all in one vacation. You'll have to do like most folks and keep coming back for more.
