Visiting the Summit is a deeply spiritual experience, as well as having every amenity for fun and comfort. Western NC is pretty fabulous but nowhere else that I have stayed captures the essence of them Big Ole Mountains any better. Its a tangible feeling, just as though you could reach out and touch them. Having the Bryson City downtown area and Deep Creek be so close and convenient is a bonus, but you would only know it when youre on the Summits porches whenever the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad whistle blows. Inside the cabin feels as though youre in a genuine hand-made piece of art. I hope to have our extended families come there for a reunion one day. Physical limitations are planned for without being in-your-face. Kids will probably never want to come upstairs from the game room/ walkout basement/ extended sleepover area downstairs with its own huge bathroom. And theyll love the festive lights in the screen and lattice-covered sleeping porch and the Bear Cave shower. A truly amazing time was had by us all. Even our dogs were more perfectly spoiled there than they are at home. Truly a 5-star resort with so many amenities that all you need to bring is your food and beverages. They have everything...right down to the chip clips!

Just beautiful! Everything is so well decorated, clean, and so quiet there. We love the little town of Bryson City and liked that we could get there in just minutes. We will be staying again!

The accomadations were great; everything from bedding and linens to pots and pans and silverware was available to us. The cabins interior decorating made it very inviting and the furniture was comfortable enough to fall asleep on. They even provided games, movies and cards. Our time was spent on the front porch overlooking the gorgeous view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub at night while watching the campfire and gazing at the zillion stars above. We watched movies and played cards. During the day we went tubing at the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and browsed through the shops in Bryson City. Our favorite restaurant was the Filling Station; the sandwiches are awesome. Our only problem was we ran out of time. My family and I give the Broken Twig a five star recommendation and we look forward to visiting again.

I wish they had individual listings here for each cabin because it appears some are better (and worse!) than others. We stayed in the Bungalow in the Alarka Highlands and were thrilled in every way. I am sorry some people complain about the drive up the mountain, but people, you can't have a stellar view and total seclusion right off the highway. It's worth the drive up the steep and windy gravel roads. The other best thing about getting here is that the Bungalow is the first property you come to inside the gated community of luxury cabins. That being said, we didn't hear or see another soul on the mountain the whole week we were there! We went for our anniversary and loved having a comfortable kind bed with a hot tub right outside. A few mornings we got up and went straight to the hot tub from bed. Gorgeous! With just the sounds of the little waterfall and the breeze in the trees. We loved having not only a gas grill, but also a fire pit and a charcoal grill with chimney for every kind of al fresco dining. There is a nice glass table and chairs outside too. Inside, the shower is huge with very good water pressure. I was amazed how clean it was too since it seems to be booked up and used almost constantly. I might expect a little wear and tear, but really everything was in great shape. We watched some movies on cable and even brought some Netflix movies for their dvd player for rainy nights. There was even a panini grill which we used a few times. No hair drier though because apparently they kept getting stolen so bring your own. Plenty of towels though. And with all the hiking and outdoor activity, we were very glad to have a washer and drier. My husband and I travel a lot and we are very picky. I like fancy, but I can rough it too. This "cabin" is luxurious. We recommend it highly and hope to return some day.

Like I said above ,we called at the last minute right before closing time and Miss Alice made us more then welcome and told us to start driving over from Cherokee and that she would have us set up by the time we got over,,,,,,,,,,and she did,,thanks Ms.Alice,she and the young lady in the very first office you see when you walk in the front door are already helping me with a cabin for me and my grandsons to stay in when we come back either next month or in August,,,,,,,,,as we say in South Louisiana,,,,,,,,,,,,,"It don't get no more better then that",,, :0)

We loved our stay at smokies cabin. It was real close to town but we were back at the cabin on the deck we felt like we were away from it all. The hot tub was the perfect touch to end the day after all the hiking we did. Thank you Alice for all your help.

This vacation was the most delightful experience ever. We are from Florida and we have traveled to this area before but this cabin was by far the most relaxing. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs to decompress from it all because this cabin and it's views will do it all for you!! Love the falling leaves chalet

Memory Maker was just perfect for myself, husband and our 2 kids. The proximity to Deep Creek and the train ride worked out great. The kids are already asking when they can come back. lol

This is our 3rd time to Bryson City and was our first time staying in a cabin. This is the only way to experience the mountains. Our cabin offered some amazing privacy and views and we loved coming back to the cabin after an adventure each day and soaking in the hot tub. Can't wait to get back.
