Here at Bryson City Cabin Rentals, our utmost priority is the safety and well-being of all of our guests, their families, our team members and families, our property owners, and our community. As the situation unfolds, we will utilize this webpage to provide updates as to our company policies and procedures, local updates/mandates and information, and helpful links where you may find current national, state and local information on COVID-19.
Our goal is provide the best customer service throughout this difficult and uncertain time. Our office plans to offer limited office hours to assist in future guest questions, and to assist in any way we can. We encourage our guests and our local area office visitors to contact us by email - [email protected] or by phone 888-483-3630 in an effort to uphold the plan of social distancing. Once we update our office hours, we will update this page and our Facebook Page. Please be aware we are only taking reservations for travel dates beginning 5/1/2020.
Swain County Adopts a Supplemental Declaration of a Local State of Emergency
Effective Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at 12 :00 noon all hotels, motels, resorts, inns, guest houses, bed-and-breakfasts, campgrounds, RV parks, vacation cabin and home rentals, and any and all rentals or leases by Air-B-N-B, Homeaway, VRBO, and other rental programs or places where leases or use of any are for less than one month in duration shall be closed in Swain County and Town of Bryson City.
That all of the terms and conditions or that said local State or Emergency declared on March I7, 2020 remains in force and effect.
Any person who violates any provision of this Declaration shall be guilty or a Class 2 misdemeanor in accordance with N .C.G.S. Secs. 166A- I9.3 I and 14- 288.20A.
What does that mean for you as a Bryson City Cabin Rentals Guest?
All Immediately Incoming Guests (3/23/2020 - 4/30/2020) - Due to the Declaration, you will not be allowed to check-in to your reservation.
We will be contacting each of you individually to notify you that we will be either cancelling your reservation, or you have the option to be filed as a Rescheduled reservation. If you choose to cancel, you will be refunded in full. Please be aware that this may take 5-7 business days to refund to your card on file. If you choose to reschedule, you will have 6 months to reschedule your reservation and one year to travel. You will however, have to adhere to the seasonal rate of the time that you choose to travel. So if you choose to stay in the summer, you will be required to pay the difference in rate. All rescheduling fees will also be waived.
Timeline - We will be contacting every reservation for the upcoming week/weekend first, then the following week. One of our representatives will contact you regarding your preference of cancellation or reschedule. Please be on the lookout for phone calls/emails from our reservations team this week. We will be reaching out to guests for the upcoming two weeks, until we get further notification from our County Commissioners regarding the time line for closure as there is not one at this time.
We are currently accepting reservations, both over the phone and online for May 1, 2020 and beyond.
Existing Reservations for 5/1/2020 & Beyond - For travelers hesitant to travel during these dates, we are currently offering our standard cancellation policy for reservations past 5/1/2020. You may cancel your reservation, less a $75 cancellation fee. Or you may wait until closer to time, as we currently do not have an end date for the Emergency Declaration Order, if this order extends beyond 4/30/2020, you may refer to the above amended policy above. You may also reschedule your reservation. For rescheduled reservations, you have 6 months to reschedule, with 1 year to travel in the original property you reserved. All rescheduling fees are waived at this time.
We welcome our guests to contact us via email with any questions you may have or clarification that we need. Please be patient as we are currently working on contacting each guests as quickly as possible. Please note that if you contact us via telephone, there may be longer wait/call back times as we are experiencing an influx of callers. We are asking that guests refrain if possible from visiting our office, as we are doing our best to abide by Social Distancing measures and are working to keep our staff and families healthy and safe.
Amended Cancellation Policy:
For reservations occurring between 3/24/2020 - 4/30/2020
You will have the option to cancel your upcoming reservation or reschedule your reservation. All cancellation fees and rescheduling fees will be waived.
- Cancellations - If you choose to cancel, your reservation will be refunded in full. Please understand it will take 5-7 business days from our date of contact for the refund to process through your bank.
- Reschedules - If you choose to reschedule, you will have 6 months to reschedule your reservation and 1 year to travel from your originally scheduled date and must be in your originally scheduled property. It is your sole responsibilty to do so. Once we reschedule you, we will then send you a rescheduling email that gives you details on our Reschedule Policy.
Travel Insurance Updates & Information
Statement from Generali Insurance - The Coronavirus outbreak is considered a foreseeable event under any plans purchased on or after January 29, 2020. That means you could be covered if you are diagnosed with Coronavirus, but foreseeable events such as becoming quarantined due to the Coronavirus will not be covered. Please note, our plans will not cover fear of travel, unless you purchased Trip Cancellation for Any Reason coverage. In addition, some of our plans (including the Standard, Preferred, and Premium) exclude losses due to a pandemic. For plans that exclude losses due to a pandemic, there will be no coverage for this event for losses occurred on or after March 11, 2020, the date COVID-19 was formally declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. We know each of you have so looked forward to staying with us in Bryson City and our beautiful mountains. Our community is taking great measures to protect the health and well-being of our community members, and you our guests.
