Rafting and Kayaking

The Nantahala is one of the most popular whitewater rafting destinations in the country. A family friendly river suitable for all ages providing the kids are at least 7 years old or at least 60 pounds. There are a number of outfitters offering guided and self-guided trips on a variety of raft styles. Our favorites include Endless River Adventures, Wildwater Rafting and Nantahala Outdoor Center. Smaller children, age four and older can raft on the Tuckasegee River; we recommend Tuckasegee Outfitters.
