Cathey Cabin is located just minutes outside of downtown Bryson City, but offers the peace and solitude you need during your mountain vacation.  This is the perfect spot to make homebase while you hike the many local mountain trails, take a tube down deep creek, do a little fishing or sight seeing, or even taking a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad.  The Cherokee Indian Reservation is just fifteen minutes away where you can take in the ancient culture and history of the area.  If you're looking for nightlife this is the perfect spot with Harrah's Cherokee Casino and the delicious restaurants.  If you're looking for outdoor adventure take another fifteen minute drive to the Nantahala River Gorge and enjoy world class whitewater rafting, kayaking, and ziplining.  You are also located near the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, which is a world renowned location for gorgeous mountain views, scenic drives, wonderful day hikes, and waterfall spotting.
