ALARKA HIGHLANDS BUNGALOW

We only communicated once when we first inquired about the property. We asked if the creek right behind the house was good for fishing. The woman gave us friendly, accurate information.

Our house was very nice, romantic, and relaxing. We loved our weekend getaway!

Property was beautiful and nicely kept!! Relaxing in the hot tub while looking at the stars was amazing!! Enjoyed everything about thus cozy beautiful cabin and loved the stone shower!!! Absolutely a beautiful place for couples that just need to get away from it all!! Will definitely be back!!!

I love the Alarka Highlands Community and am coming back for a 3rd visit this year. I love it so much that I am buying property and planning a build. So peaceful and well maintained.

I was surprised and glad that they were accessible at 9:00 pm to take my final payment. The e-mail with the info for the lock box, gate and grocery store access was great. I didn't have to do that research myself.

I really never had to talk to any of your staff. Everything was done online. The cabin was as I envisioned it. I did look at comments about the cabin online before I booked it.

The directions were good. The road is curvy and narrow, but I like the mountain roads and driving. The deck, fire pit, and hot tub were all utilized. I bought three bundles of wood in town, make sure you have plenty of paper to get the wood going, it was not seasoned. The cabin was great. Used the washer, dryer, stove and microwave, all worked great. The deck and cabin are very private, very romantic in the evenings in the hot tub and around the campfire. I wish they had individual listings here for each cabin because it appears some are better (and worse!) than others. We stayed in the Bungalow in the Alarka Highlands and were thrilled in every way. I am sorry some people complain about the drive up the mountain, but people, you can't have a stellar view and total seclusion right off the highway. It's worth the drive up the steep and windy gravel roads. The other best thing about getting here is that the Bungalow is the first property you come to inside the gated community of luxury cabins. That being said, we didn't hear or see another soul on the mountain the whole week we were there! We went for our anniversary and loved having a comfortable kind bed with a hot tub right outside. A few mornings we got up and went straight to the hot tub from bed. Gorgeous! With just the sounds of the little waterfall and the breeze in the trees. We loved having not only a gas grill, but also a fire pit and a charcoal grill with chimney for every kind of al fresco dining. There is a nice glass table and chairs outside too. Inside, the shower is huge with very good water pressure. I was amazed how clean it was too since it seems to be booked up and used almost constantly. I might expect a little wear and tear, but really everything was in great shape. We watched some movies on cable and even brought some Netflix movies for their dvd player for rainy nights. There was even a panini grill which we used a few times. No hair drier though because apparently they kept getting stolen so bring your own. Plenty of towels though. And with all the hiking and outdoor activity, we were very glad to have a washer and drier. My husband and I travel a lot and we are very picky. I like fancy, but I can rough it too. This "cabin" is luxurious. We recommend it highly and hope to return some day.
